Hi there, I'm Amelia
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat residing in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
Origins
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't part of the master plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a work chance and soon grew into something far larger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt tougher than they should.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Reason I Created Harbor Field Studio
Most online guidance fell into corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. The missing piece was a real, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in United Kingdom.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever real changes occur
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a paid review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United Kingdom continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Amelia
